Meridian Music Department Fundraising
There are three types of Fundraising sources or 'accounts'. Each have specific purposes and regulations when it comes to spending and raising money.
MHS Booster club - A district-wide parent support organization. This money pays for larger department purchases, choir or band uniforms, instruments, choir risers, items we need quickly, trip supplies, etc. These fundraisers are lead by parents. Students can 'help' in a limited capacity, but have no contact with money
General Music ASB - ASB pays for contest fees, trips, transportation, pizza parties, music coaches, accompanists, etc. out of our fundraising. Every student has an amount they need to pay for these general music ASB expenses (Documents). There are a few fundraisers that pay exclusively for general expenses. These expenses affect everyone in the music department to some extent and are paid for by everyone's fundraising.
Individual Student ASB - All ASB money goes into one account, but Mr. DeGrace keeps track of each student's individual balance. Fundraised monies can never be refunded.
Individual fundraisers pay for a student's individual trips and costs. Funds are submitted to Mrs. Heslep in the main office - Receipt is give to Mr. DeGrace and he keeps a spreadsheet of all student accounts.
General fundraisers pay for the whole team. Funds are deposited in the general account to lower EVERYONES costs. Booster fundraisers are almost ALWAYS general fundraisers. ASB fundraisers can be General and Individual fundraisers, most are a combination.
